What is a charter school?
A charter school is a public school that is chartered by the state or local Board of Education to provide education to children within its governing community. Charter schools must meet State required educational standards and must work to assist scholars in their efforts of achieving academic success in order to maintain its charter with the granting board. 

What are the admissions requirements?
All incoming scholars will be admitted to City University School of Liberal Arts, regardless of previous academic record. Although scholars will be admitted regardless of academic record, admission is contingent upon the scholars' and the parents' willingness to sign the yearly Progress Inventory Plan and the Student Scholar's Code of Conduct. Both documents are developed to adhere to the mission of the school, to develop student scholars through scholarship and citizenship.

How many scholars will be enrolled at City University?
City University will continue to grow by one grade level each year until it reaches its maximum capacity at all grade levels, 9-12. The scholar population will grow to nearly 320 scholars in grades 9 through 12. 

How much does it cost to attend City University?
As City University is a public charter school, it is available to all scholars at no cost to them or their families.

What is the daily schedule?
City University School of Liberal Arts will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Although scholars will only be required on the campus during instructional hours (8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.), the facilities will be opened and supervised to allow scholars access to educational resources.

How many days are in the school year?
The school year provides for 190 instructional days and 23 holidays/vacation. The Board may reconsider the dates if it becomes necessary in order to ensure the school reaches the greatest number of families in the community and fills all available seats.
